Lake Minneola High Students CiCi Peroni and Augustine Wladyczka Medal At Junior Olympics

Clermont, Fla. — Lake Minneola High student-athletes Cecilia “CiCi” Peroni and Augustine Wladyczka returned home with Junior Olympic medals after an outstanding performance at the national tournament.

(CiCi Peroni won gold at the Junior Olympics.)

Peroni, competing with the 16U girls’ team, helped secure a gold medal. Wladyczka, representing the 16U boys’ team, played a key role in earning a silver medal, This is a big accomplishment for these two Lake County athletes and we are so proud of them.

These accomplishments highlight the growing prominence of water polo in Lake County. Currently no school high school’s in Lake County offer the sport of water polo. However the Orlando Thunder Water Polo Club which relocated to the National Training Center in Clermont has grown interest in the sport. Hopefully these Junior olympic athletes continue to grow the sport even further.

(Augustine is just 15 years old and has a 4.6 GPA.)

Congratulations to both these rising student-athletes. Perhaps we will see them in LA for the 2028 Olympic games in the near future!
