$3 Million “Garage Condo” Project Brings Luxury Man Caves to Leesburg

Sure, you can buy a condo at the beach or some nice touristy mountain area for you and your family, but you can now buy one for your car or RV.
Within the next two months you can park your vintage auto or shiny new sports car in a garage condo in what the owner dubs the ultimate “man cave.”
“It’s a growing concept for people to store their toys,” says owner Micky Blackton.
He looked at 10 acres he owned near the corner of West Main and County Road 468 and said, “Why not?”
The building, now under construction, is designed to house 25-by-50 foot units, each 20 feet high. Buyers can buy more than one unit by removing a wall between the units.
This is not your father’s stuffy garage, with oil stains on the floor and a refrigerator that has seen better days. It is a $3 million project.
These units, which cost $285,000 each and come with air conditioning, a restroom with shower, and bar set up. Want a loft? Blackton is working with Matthew Hanna Construction to meet that demand.
He is also working with Obsessed Garage to provide tool cabinets and other supplies.
Blackton, 74, goes to work every day at the roofing and flooring company his father founded, Blackton Inc. “I love it. The company opened a facility nearby.”
Car lovers in The Villages seem like natural customers. “There are sports car clubs with 600 members, and I don’t know how many Corvette clubs,” he says.
He has not signed any buyers yet. He is getting his state approved documents ready but says the project has sparked a lot of interest.
One man said he wants to put a golf simulator in a unit for him and friends. “I asked him if he had cars, too, and he said he had a few.”
One man in Michigan has dozens of vintage autos, including Ford Model T’s.
Blackton says he has toys of his own, including a Bentley and an Audi R8 (think the first “Iron Man” movie).
