Local Horse Trainer Daisy Lennon Takes 1st Place At Barrel Racing Event
Lady Lake’s Daisy Lennon took first place at a Barrel Racing Event at Lake Saddle Club. For Daisy, this was more than just a victory. This was the culmination of all the training that Daisy has put in to get her horse Star into a position to compete at a high level.
“I love Star. I’ve been riding my whole life, but never won a buckle until Star came along. I did all the training on her, and she’s become an AMAZING barrel horse. Me and the kids I teach lessons to joke because they have won buckles before me! I have always been super close to winning some but never actually won one. Hard work gets you there!” says Daisy.
Daisy doesn’t just barrel race; she also has taken part in challenges called Extreme Mustang Makeover Edition, where she trains Mustangs over a period of weeks and months. At the end, the judges decide which Mustang made the most progress, and Daisy is one of the top Mustang trainers in Lake County.
But beyond her work training outside the ring, Daisy loves to compete at the end of the day. “It’s been a goal of mine to win a first-place buckle for so long. While the win was sweet, it made it even sweeter knowing that I won on a horse that I trained all by myself. It has been extremely exciting and super satisfying to see all the hard work pay off!” says Daisy.
Daisy wants to become an equine massage therapist. She also wants to become one of the most well-rounded trainers in the area.
Congratulations to Daisy for finally winning a first-place buckle!
