Poppy’s Ice Cream & Sweet Shop, located at 134 West Ruby Street in Tavares, has opened. The new ice cream shop has been a hit since its opening last week.
“We are truly overwhelmed by the incredible support we received during our soft opening! It was unforgettable! Seeing all of you enjoying our ice cream brought us so much joy. Thank you for your patience, your kind words, and your love for our sweet creations. We are so grateful to be part of this community,” says owner Hillary Perry.

The new business venture is exciting for the community. Hillary also owns the Nautilus Coffee Company, The Argonaut Bar & Lounge, and partners with Iron Works Steaks and Fine Cocktails. Her business ventures are very successful and among the most popular in Lake County.
The community is excited about the new ice cream shop. “The cutest ice cream shop ever! From the decor to the ice cream. I had Poppy’s Treat and it was delicious! Highly recommend! Bonus: they have indoor and outdoor seating,” says Sarah K.

Poppy’s Ice Cream and Sweet Shop is open 7 days a week: Monday-Thursday 12-9pm, Friday-Saturday 12-10pm, and Sunday 12-8pm.
Poppy’s Ice Cream offers amazing options including Bubble Waffles — the perfect combination of crispy, chewy, and oh-so-delicious. The shop offers pre-customized versions of these sweet treats, or you can build your own bubble by choosing your favorite flavor, toppings, and drizzles.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.
For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.
Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
