Umatilla, FL – Umatilla High School is proud to announce that Hayden Todd will be stepping into the role of head basketball coach, succeeding his father, Pat Todd, who has served with distinction in this position.

Born and raised in Lake County, Hayden Todd has deep roots in the community. He attended Florida College in Tampa, where he played four years of NAIA basketball and graduated in 2020 with a degree in Business Administration. Driven by his passion for coaching, Hayden took on the role of Graduate Assistant at Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.

(Patrick Todd, who is the athletic director at Umatilla High has stepped down as head basketball coach of Umatilla High. Hayden Todd has been named as his replacement.)

Hayden joined the Umatilla High School family in 2022 as the JV Boys Basketball Head Coach and Varsity Assistant, quickly becoming an integral part of the program. He is excited to continue building on the strong culture established by Coach Pat Todd during his tenure.

(Under Patrick Todd, Umatilla’s basketball team has experienced the most success in school history including two back to back trips to the FHSAA Playoffs.)

“I am so excited for Coach Todd to take the wheel as the new Head Boys Basketball Coach at Umatilla High School,” said Principal Brent Frazier. “Hayden is an incredibly hardworking man dedicated to helping our student-athletes prepare for greatness both on the court and in life. Our young men could not be in better hands!”

Principal Frazier also took a moment to thank outgoing coach Pat Todd for his exceptional service: “Pat has led UHS to one of the winningest stretches in school history. He has left a legacy and given us a blueprint for success that will continue to guide this program.”

“I am honored to take on this role and continue the legacy my father has created here at Umatilla High School,” said Hayden. “I look forward to working with our players and the community to foster growth, teamwork, and excellence on and off the court.”

As Hayden embarks on this new chapter, the Umatilla High School community is eager to support him in this important role and looks forward to a bright future for the boys’ basketball program.
