Red Lobster in Clermont and The Villages Close For Good
Red Lobster in Clermont has closed its doors for good. This closure is part of a broader trend as the restaurant chain has been shutting down locations across the USA. While many loyal customers hoped the Clermont location would be spared, today’s news confirms the permanent closure of the beloved seafood spot.
The Red Lobster in Leesburg shuttered a few months ago, signaling potential trouble for other locations in the area. The only other location that appeared to remain open was The Villages, however that location appears to have also closed for good. With that, Red Lobster is all but gone in Lake & Sumter County. Both restaurant’s list Temporarily Closed on Google but from rumblings in the community it appears this may be permanent.
For many it was the delicious biscuits that brought them through the doors, for others it was the endless shrimp. For whatever reason, the business model could not sustain the current climate we are in. Some blame prices, others blame staff shortages or management. At the end of the day, people have lost their jobs and we should be thinking and praying for them during this time.
Despite our efforts to contact both restaurants for more information, we have not yet received a response as the telephone just continued to ring as no one was there to answer at either location. We are unsure if any of the interior fixtures, items or equipment will be liquidated at this time but will update as we get more info.
