Volunteers Clean Up 140 Pounds of Trash From Lake Eustis Shoreline
A dedicated group of 15 volunteers worked hard this past weekend to make a real difference in the community. The volunteers were part of the CleanUp Eustis initiative. They worked together to remove 140 pounds of trash from the Lake Eustis shoreline, including syringes and plastic cigar tips. “We even removed a whole chocolate cake from the shoreline! I am not kidding,” says Christine Cruz, one of the volunteers.
The group received a generous donation of supplies to help clean up the Lake Eustis shoreline from Tobacco Free Florida. The donations included grabbers, poles, a fishing magnet, sunscreen, and bug spray. “Your support made our work not only easier but also more effective. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this vital cause. Let’s keep the momentum going and continue to show our community what can be achieved when we work together!” says Christine Cruz.
Next month, CleanUp Eustis will be celebrating their anniversary CleanUp. The group will meet Monday, Labor Day, at 8 A.M. at That Place in Eustis for breakfast. Then the group will drive over to the El Marie parking lot and start the CleanUp at 9 A.M.
Thank you to all the volunteers for doing this. We can’t tell you how much you all are appreciated for keeping Lake County beautiful, especially Lake Eustis. Keep up the great work!
