Epic Twirl Group From Fruitland Park Shines On National Sage
EPIC Twirl, a premier twirling team from Lake County, recently showcased their incredible talent on the national stage. Six dedicated members of EPIC Twirl competed at the USTA National Twirling Championships in Fairborn, Ohio, where both the senior and junior advanced dance twirl groups secured impressive 2nd place finishes. Their success didn’t stop there—some of the twirlers then traveled to South Bend, Indiana, to participate in the NBTA National Competition, where they claimed victory in the advanced dance twirl division.
EPIC Twirlers are a proud part of Twirl Florida, an organization that unites twirling groups and athletes from across the state. Their collaborative spirit and dedication have led to remarkable achievements, including a silver medal at the World Twirling Championships in Liverpool, England, last summer. This year, the momentum continues as three corps from EPIC Twirl have qualified to compete on the world stage once again. These talented young ladies will head to Torino, Italy, in August 2025 to vie for the highest honors in baton twirling.
Each of these athletes began their journey in a beginner recreational class, proving that with dedication and expert guidance, dreams can become reality. EPIC Twirl, under the expert direction of Cheri Howard, has been nurturing twirling talent in Lake County for 35 years. Howard’s commitment to her students has helped EPIC Twirl grow into one of the leading twirling organizations in the country.
For those inspired by EPIC Twirl’s success, the organization is now enrolling students for the new twirling season. Whether your child is a beginner or looking to advance their skills, EPIC Twirl offers a range of classes designed to develop and enhance their twirling abilities.
