Mollie Cunningham Wins Re-Election To Lake County School Board
In a resounding victory, Mollie Cunningham has been re-elected to the Lake County School Board. Cunningham, a highly-qualified candidate with an impressive 39-year career in education, has dedicated her life to improving the quality of education in Lake County. Her re-election is a testament to the trust and confidence that the community has placed in her leadership and vision for the future of the county’s schools.
Cunningham’s extensive experience includes 35 years with Lake County Schools, where she served in various administrative roles before her retirement and initial election to the school board. Her tenure has been marked by active involvement in key initiatives, including participating in committees to hire a superintendent and other upper-level administrators. She also contributed to revising the Student Code of Conduct and selecting textbooks, ensuring that the educational standards in Lake County remained high and aligned with the needs of the students.
Beyond her work with the school district, Cunningham has also been a dedicated community leader, serving on the Board of Directors for Cornerstone Hospice and the Central Florida YMCA. Her broad experience in both education and community service has equipped her with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Lake County schools.
Cunningham’s platform focused on several critical issues, including improving employee compensation for Lake County Schools staff, strengthening educational foundations, enhancing school safety, and empowering parents with greater choice and control in their children’s education. She has consistently advocated for providing every stakeholder in the community with a voice, believing that education is one of society’s greatest responsibilities.
As Mollie Cunningham embarks on another term, the Lake County community can look forward to continued progress in education under her experienced and dedicated leadership.
Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.
For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.
Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
