Rocky and the Rollers Keeping Rock ‘N’ Roll Alive in The Villages
The Villages, Fla. — For more than 40 years, local band Rocky and the Rollers has been a cornerstone of rock ‘n’ roll revival, captivating audiences across the globe with their vibrant performances. Led by frontman Gerry “Rocky” Seader, the band has toured internationally, playing everything from fairs and festivals to black-tie events and corporate conventions.
With a rich history of performing alongside rock and roll legends, Rocky and the Rollers have shared the stage with some of music’s biggest icons, including Dennis Tufano and Jon “Bowzer” Bauman, former lead singer of Sha Na Na. They are best known as the touring band for Bowzer’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Party, and their extensive resume boasts collaborations with over 250 recording artists from the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s.
The group has worked closely with music impresario Dick Clark on many of his rock and roll shows and backed legendary names such as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, The Drifters, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Tokens, and Del Shannon.
Locally, Rocky and the Rollers have cemented their status as one of the biggest draws in The Villages, where their lively performances in the community’s open-air squares have become a staple of the area’s renowned free nightly entertainment. Their shows draw large crowds of enthusiastic locals and visitors, who gather to relive the golden era of rock ‘n’ roll.
Whether belting out timeless hits or getting the crowd on their feet with energetic dance numbers, Rocky and the Rollers deliver an unforgettable experience, one that has made them a beloved fixture in The Villages and beyond. Their long-standing commitment to bringing the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll to life is fantastic and the musical numbers they play are amazing. It’s one thing to get up on stage and sing to instrumental tracks but its another to get up there and play actual instruments. When you go to a Rock & The Rollers show it’s like going back in time to the good ole days.
That’s the thing that sets Rocky & The Rollers apart is that all their music is done live and as it would sound if you took a time-machine and went back 50 or 60 years. It’s just so well done and you have to experience it.
For anyone looking for a slice of authentic rock ‘n’ roll, an evening with Rocky and the Rollers is a must-see event—just be sure to bring your dancing shoes. You can look up their events by visiting rockyandtherollers.com
