Montverde Academy’s Addison Poe Commits To UCF for Softball
MONTVERDE, Fla. — Addison Poe, one of the top rising softball stars in the state, has committed to continue her athletic and academic career at the University of Central Florida. The standout athlete from Montverde Academy made her announcement in an emotional statement this week, expressing gratitude for the support she’s received along the way.
“I am so blessed and excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Central Florida,” Poe said. “None of this would be possible without God and his plan for me. I would like to thank my parents and family for supporting me throughout my journey and making me the person I am today. I want to thank all my coaches and teammates who have helped me be the player I am today.”
Poe, who transferred to Montverde Academy from Seminole High School (Sanford) ahead of this season, has quickly established herself as one of the best all-around players in the state. Over her first two varsity seasons with Seminole, Poe compiled an impressive .414 batting average, racking up 67 hits, 38 RBIs, 14 home runs, and 45 runs scored. Her speed has also been a factor, with 12 stolen bases to her name.
Addison has not just been good, she’s been incredible. Her move to Montverde Academy adds even more firepower to a program that is just coming off its first ever FHSAA State Championship. Montverde, a perennial state contender, boasts seven Division I athletes already committed, with several others expected to announce before the season begins. With Poe in the fold, the team will be a favorite to make a deep run in the state tournament in 2025.
We want to congratulate Addison Poe and we wish her the best of luck during her junior year at Montverde Academy.
