Pat’s Pawn & Gun Shop In Leesburg Closing After 47 Years

LEESBURG, Fla. — Pat’s Pawn & Gun, a longstanding fixture in the Leesburg community, is set to close its doors after 47 years of operation. The store, located at 2301 US Highway 441, is holding a retirement sale as it prepares to shut down operations in about 90 days, with its final day of business scheduled for Christmas Eve.

(The original location back in 1977 before expanding to the larger current location.)

Started in 1977 and bought by Darrin and Cindy Steele in 1985, Pat’s Pawn & Gun grew from humble beginnings to become Leesburg’s largest pawn and gun shop. After the Steeles purchased the business in 1985, it grew and eventually expanded into their current 15,000-square-foot building, which features a 7,500-square-foot retail showroom.

(Eventually Pat’s Pawn & Gun moved to it’s current location and has been a big part of the community for decades.)

The store’s wide-ranging inventory includes firearms, ammunition, Benchmade knives, reloading supplies, archery accessories, jewelry, tools, and more. The storewide retirement sale is currently ongoing, offering discounts on all remaining stock. It also had offered gunsmithing services on-site and they could fix most issues you would be having.

(Pat’s was always the place to go if you needed gunsmithing services. They could pretty much fix any issue you would have had.)

As the Steeles prepare to close this chapter of their lives, it will be strange to see them gone. 47-years is a heck of a run for a family owned business. While we are sad to see them go, we wish the Steele family the best of luck on their next ventures.

Pat’s Pawn & Gun will leave behind a rich history as one of Leesburg’s oldest and most well-known businesses. Feel free to stop on in and take a look around at the inventory they have. One thing is for sure, at Pat’s Pawn & Gun you are always going to find something intersting.
