THE VILLAGES, FL — Villages Charter School senior Kianna Burgos has officially committed to play soccer and continue her academic career at Newberry College in South Carolina, an NCAA Division II program. Burgos, known for her dual abilities as both a prolific goal-scorer and a top-level goalie, is set to bring her talents to Newberry’s Wolves in 2025. But before she does that, she has some unfinished business this year at The Villages.

Last year, Burgos made an impressive mark on the field, netting 18 goals. She also had already established herself as one of Florida’s standout goalies at the club level. Her versatility and strong track record in both offensive and defensive roles have made her a prized recruit. This season in just 3 regular season games, Kianna already has 14 goals. She is having a massive start to her senior campaign.

We are so proud of this young lady and she has a bright future ahead of her at Newberry College. “We have a great group of ladies this season and Kianna is just one of those players that’s such an athlete. She’s a very versitile player.” says Villages head coach Brian Rausch. Through the first four games of the regular season, The Buffalo have scored 41 goals and given up zero.
This team is destined for big things in 2024. We want to congratulate Kianna Burgos on her decision to attend Newberry College! Way to go!
