BUSHNELL, Fla. — South Sumter High School standout Nathalie Williams, one of the most dominant softball players in Florida Class 3A, has officially signed her National Letter of Intent to play for Florida A&M University (FAMU).

Williams, a senior is known in the Central Florida area for her powerful hitting and consistent performance. She is going to be bringing an impressive resume to the Rattlers. Last season, she posted a .429 batting average with eight home runs, 20 RBIs, 27 hits, and 24 runs scored. She led all of Class 3A District 6 in home runs and held the district’s second-highest batting average. Her eight home runs ranked her 49th in the state of Florida.

“I am so blessed and honored to be an OFFICIAL RATTLER. All glory to God for his timing and plans for my future and thank you to Coach Beall and the coaching staff at FAMU for this opportunity,” says Nathalie.

Williams actually de-committed from West Georgia to FAMU. She will join a program led by newly appointed head coach Brittany Scott Beall, who transitioned to FAMU after a decorated coaching career at Eustis High School. At Eustis, Beall guided her teams to two state championships and helped multiple players secure Division I scholarships. Her reputation for developing high-caliber athletes aligns perfectly with Williams’ skill set and aspirations.

(Brittany Scott Beall is coming off her second FHSAA State Championship victory in May. She hopes to replicate much of that success at the collegiate level at FAMU.)

Nathalie is a tremendous athlete with the power, versatility, and work ethic that FAMU softball represents. Watching this girl play last year, I was so excited about her potential. She will be an incredible asset to any program but especially to FAMU as they continue building what hopes to be a championship-caliber team.

Anytime you have athletes coming out of Lake & Sumter county and headed to play at the NCAA Division 1 level its exciting. This is one young woman who will make an impact not just on the softball field but
