Tavares High Boys Basketball Dominate Crescent City, Improve to 3-3 On The Season
TAVARES, Fla. — The Tavares High School Bulldogs secured a commanding 63-34 victory over Crescent City on Tuesday night, evening their record at 3-3 this season.
Sophomore standout Kevin Daniels led the charge with 19 points and several key assists, setting the pace for the Bulldogs’ dominant performance. Freshman Landon Samuel added to the offensive firepower with 8 points and has been a rising star for Tavares, showcasing his potential early in the season. Izayia Williams also contributed significantly with 14 points and led the team in rebounds with six total.
Tavares came out firing on all cylinders, jumping to a 23-4 lead by the end of the first quarter. Their defensive effort stifled Crescent City throughout the night. The Bulldogs have improved a lot defensively over last season. Ackeem Byfield added five rebounds to the defensive effort, complementing the team’s balanced play on both ends of the court.
Overall, it’s been great to see the Tavares High basketball team rebound after a challenging 2023. The year is off to a fairly good start for them. The Bulldogs will look to extend their momentum when they travel to face Freedom High School tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
