APOPKA, Fla. — Brooklyn Barrett, an ambitious young baker from Apopka, is about to take her talents to national television. The 11-year-old will compete on Food Network’s Kids Baking Championship, where her creativity and love for vibrant colors in her confections will be a joy to watch.

“I started baking when I was three years old,” said Barrett, whose passion for the culinary arts began in her family kitchen. Her favorite creations? Cakes bursting with hues as bright as her personality. “My favorite cake I’ve ever made was an explosion of color!” she said.

Barrett, who lives in Apopka, says baking allows her to blend artistry and imagination. Her eye for detail and knack for combining bold flavors with eye-catching designs have already impressed those around her, and she hopes to win over the show’s judges as well.

The Kids Baking Championship now in it’s 13th season spotlights talented bakers aged 8 to 13 as they tackle challenges to showcase their skills, creativity, and technical expertise. For Barrett, it’s an opportunity to prove that her passion, honed over years of practice, can rise to the occasion.

Barrett’s family, friends, and community are rallying behind her as she takes on this exciting challenge. You can catch the first episode of the season tonight on Food Network at 8pm and every Monday night at 8pm. We wish this local young baker the best of luck!
