Lecanto High School Basketball Player Braylen Moore Scores 1,000th Career Point
LECANTO, Fla. — Junior Braylen Moore made history last evening at Lecanto High School reaching the coveted 1,000-point milestone during the Panthers’ thrilling matchup against Leesburg High School which they would ultimately win 51-42.
The rare feat is impressive at any level, but Moore achieved it in just his junior year. He has been thrilling to watch and what a moment it was.
“This is a special moment, not just for Braylen but for our entire program,” Lecanto head coach Frank Vilardi said. “His work ethic and dedication to the game are unmatched, and this milestone is a testament to that.”
Moore has been a driving force for the Panthers, known for his scoring ability, leadership, and passion for the game. Moore is averaging 17.4 points per game this season which amazingly is 4 points behind leading scorer and fellow junior JT Tipton who is a quarterback of the football team. Moore also plays football and is a wide receiver and safety.
Lecanto High School celebrated the achievement on social media, tweeting, “Achieving greatness is exactly what Braylen Moore did last night at the Lecanto vs. Leesburg basketball game. Bray recorded his 1,000th career point, which is a rare accomplishment, but even more rare is he did so in his junior year. Join LHS in congratulating Braylen! #TPW @LHSPantherAth.”
With Moore leading the way, Lecanto looks poised for a deep postseason run. The team is currently 12-1 this year and anytime you can win against Leesburg High School it is a huge accomplishment.
Congratulations to Braylen Moore!
