Amare Walker Scores 25 Points as Tavares High Extends Win Streak to Three Games
TAVARES, Fla. — Tavares High School boys basketball continued their impressive run, securing an 81-53 victory against Umatilla High School on Monday night, marking their third consecutive win. Tavares High also won late last week against East Ridge High School.
Sophomore sensation Amare Walker led the Bulldogs with a game-high 25 points. He has been a standout all season long for the Bulldogs. Fellow sophomore Kevin Daniels added 16 points and junior Dylan Campbell added 15 points. They have been providing crucial support to keep Tavares in control throughout games this season.
The Bulldogs, now 8-7 on the season, are on a mission to achieve their first winning record in two decades, a milestone that has eluded the program for 20 years. With their current momentum, Tavares will certainly have the chance to do just that coming down the home stretch of the regular season.
“We’re playing with confidence and determination,” says third year head coach Berkley Carey. “The guys are locked in, and we’re taking it one game at a time to reach our goals.”
Tavares will face Wekiva on Wednesday before taking on Mount Dora High School on Friday night. The Bulldogs hope to maintain their winning streak.
