FRUITLAND PARK, Fla. — School and community leaders gathered this week for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the brand new Fruitland Park Elementary School, a state-of-the-art campus designed to serve the growing needs of Lake County students.

Located on a sprawling, modern campus, the new facility represents a major investment in education infrastructure. The school features upgraded classrooms, advanced technology, and expanded recreational facilities — all aimed at enhancing the learning environment for both students and staff.

This is a monumental day for Fruitland Park. This school is more than just a building — it’s a symbol of our commitment to providing the very best for the students. Not just that but this school represents the future of Lake County School’s who continue to modernize aging facilities and helping our students achieve success.

The new building replaces the aging original campus and significantly increases the school’s capacity, preparing it to meet the demands of a rapidly growing community. With families moving to Lake County in record numbers, the additional space and modern amenities were desperately needed.

In addition to offering flexible learning spaces tailored to modern teaching methods, the school is equipped with energy-efficient systems and cutting-edge safety features. Officials say these updates not only improve the student experience but also reflect the district’s focus on long-term sustainability and security.

As the new school begins its first year of operation, the existing Fruitland Park Elementary School campus will temporarily serve a new role. During the 2025–2026 academic year, the building will house students from Leesburg’s Beverly Shores Elementary, whose campus will undergo a major renovation as part of a broader district initiative to modernize schools across Lake County.

Construction at Beverly Shores is expected to last the duration of the school year, with students returning to their newly upgraded campus in 2026.

The opening of the new Fruitland Park Elementary marks a milestone in Lake County’s educational evolution — one designed to support today’s students while preparing for the challenges of tomorrow.
