Lincoln Park Education Center Hosts Open House After Incredible First Year

After a successful inaugural year, Lincoln Park Education Center is inviting students, families, and community members to a special Meet and Greet Open House on April 24 at 6 p.m., located at 680 East Highland Avenue in Clermont.
Lincoln Park, Lake County’s first flexible-schedule public high school, officially opened in August 2024 to serve students in grades 9–12 who need to balance their education with part-time jobs, family responsibilities, or other commitments. The school offers a unique, 18-credit diploma path with flexible morning and evening schedules, small class sizes, and dual-enrollment opportunities through Lake Technical College and Lake-Sumter State College.
“It’s been incredible,” Principal Jeffrey Williams says, reflecting on the school’s first year.
Students attend class Monday through Thursday, with Fridays reserved for one-on-one meetings and academic planning. Each student receives in-person instruction, small group interventions, mentoring, and access to dual-enrollment courses and workforce certifications — all while having the flexibility to manage real-life responsibilities.
The program has also proven beneficial for students who may need more instructional support, have been retained in the past, or are looking to accelerate their education and graduate sooner.
“As result of Covid,” Jeffrey says, “we saw many students missing school for various legitimate reasons and noticed that these students were trying to do it all while supporting the family structure.”
Transportation is available at designated regional pick-up and drop-off hubs, ensuring accessibility for students throughout the area.
Interested families are encouraged to attend the open house on April 24 at 6 p.m. to learn more, meet staff, and tour the facility.
