MINNEOLA, Fla. — A normal school day turned into a life-saving moment when Jehsed, a student enrolled in the health sciences program at Lake Minneola High School, jumped into action during a medical emergency in one of her classes.

The incident, involved a fellow student experiencing a sudden health crisis. Without hesitation, Jehsed relied on skills she had learned in her health sciences coursework, particularly those taught by instructor Ms. Godwin, to stabilize the situation until professional help arrived.

School officials praised Jehsed for her swift thinking and calm under pressure, calling her actions a testament to the impact of career and technical education in public schools.

“Jehsed’s quick response and compassionate care reflect the heart of our Hawk community,” the school said in a statement. “She exemplifies what it means to be a Lake Minneola Hawk.”

We continue to pray for the student who received aid but we are so thankful to Jehsed’s timely intervention. As the school year draws to a close, Jehsed’s heroic act continues to resonate. For the Lake Minneola community about to graduate, this time of year is marked not only by academic achievement, but by a student’s amaing display of compassion and courage. Well done to Jehsed.
