Munchies Live BBQ Opens in Tavares
TAVARES, Fla. — A bold new twist on barbecue is sizzling on the shores of Lake Dora. At 110 N. New Hampshire Avenue in Downtown Tavares, guests can now enjoy an immersive, lakefront BBQ experience curated by renowned pitmaster Chef Alfred Mann and the Munchies Team an experience quickly earning a reputation as one of the best in Central Florida.
Melding Southern roots with lakeside charm, this private BBQ event space offers a one-of-a-kind setting for groups ranging from 10 to 100 guests. The backdrop? Panoramic waterfront views, a constant lake breeze, and a spread of scratch-made dishes cooked over aged wood-burning grills and smokers.
“Our barbecue is a fusion of Memphis and Carolina influences,” said Chef Mann. “Everything down to our sauces and spice blends is made from scratch. We cook low and slow over real wood and in-house pit charcoal to give each bite a bold, clean flavor you won’t forget.”

From indoor-outdoor dining and fresh-off-the-smoker service to hammock lounging and lakeside games, guests are encouraged to indulge all their senses. The menu’s standout meats include brisket, chopped chicken, pulled pork, spareribs, and smoked sausage, paired with southern staples like apple coleslaw, BBQ beans, and mac n’ cheese. Garlic bread and sliced BBQ bread round out the meal, and sweet tea and fresh-fruit lemonade keep guests cool in the Florida sun. The experience ends on a high note with a signature dessert: Camp Fire S’mores.

More than just a meal, the Tavares location also features recreational activities like putting greens, cornhole, canoes, fishing, and more making it a perfect destination for family reunions, team outings, business meetings, and private celebrations.
For those closer to Mount Dora, the Munchies BBQ experience continues at their second location at 100 E. 4th Avenue.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.
For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.
Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
