A new art event aimed at bringing healing, culture and community connection to downtown Leesburg will launch next month.

The 4th Street Art Experience, created by local artist and community organizer Semeion Richardson, will debut Aug. 15 and continue every third Friday. The event will feature live art demonstrations, music, performances and interactive opportunities for residents of all ages.

Semeion, founder of Artist with a Purpose, said the initiative grew out of his own journey of using creativity as a tool for restoration.

“Art could be more than just a passion—it could be a path to purpose, freedom, and restoration,” she says.

The monthly art event will offer free space for artists to create or display their work, with vendor booths costing $20 for those selling items. Semeion said the goal is to make art accessible to everyone while raising funds for free programming for children, including hands-on art projects in schools, neighborhoods and at community events.

“This is more than just an art walk—it’s a cultural movement,” Semeion says. “It’s where art comes alive in real time, and the community is invited to watch, engage, and even participate in the creative process.”

Artist with a Purpose also hosts other events throughout Lake County, including open mic nights, youth-focused Christian gatherings and free pop-up art experiences for kids. Upcoming events include Christian Comedy Night on Aug. 2 and Haiti Fest on Aug. 24, co-hosted by Belina Wright.

Semeion said the support of local partners, churches and community leaders has been critical in expanding the program’s reach.

“Together, we are creating spaces where people can heal, express, and unite through the power of art and culture,” she says.
