From a C to an A School, Leesburg’s Treadway Elementary Expects Big Things in 2025

Treadway Elementary School is celebrating a major academic milestone after improving its state-issued school grade from a C to an A school, the largest single-year increase among all schools in Lake County last year.
To commemorate the achievement and invite the community to take part in the school’s continued progress, Treadway will host an event titled “Paws and Partnerships: Building an A Team” on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 9 a.m. at the school.

(Returning students at Treadway sign their names on the sign that will hang at the school signifying an A program.)
The event will highlight the strategies and schoolwide efforts that led to the dramatic academic turnaround. Attendees will be invited to take guided tours of classrooms and student programs, dubbed “Teddy Bears in Action,” and will learn about opportunities to support and partner with the school in the coming year.
Recently at the school’s recent Meet the Teacher event, families signed a banner celebrating the A rating. The banner will be displayed on campus throughout the year as a symbol of accomplishment.

(Students hold the Treadway Elementary School sign with the A in TreadwAy capitalized to signal the schools new A rating.)
Treadway Elementary is located at 10619 Treadway School Road in Leesburg.
For more information or to RSVP, community members and local business leaders can call the school at 352-742-2291, ext. 7977, or email WatkinsJ1@lake.k12.fl.us.
