Motorcycle Accident in Leesburg Claims Life of 20-Year-Old Matthew Dolan

Another tragic loss happened Thursday morning. Matthew Dolan, 20, died following a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Lee Street and U.S. Highway 441. Matthew was the son of Dawn and Michael Dolan, a well-known Leesburg family whose businesses include Holiday Marine, Lake Harris Boat Rentals and Adventure Boat Share.
He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Matthew was first transported to UF Health Leesburg Hospital, where emergency doctors, nurses, medics and helicopter personnel worked for more than an hour and a half to stabilize him. He later died of his injuries.
His grandfather, Don Keister, expressed gratitude for the medical teams who fought to save his grandson’s life.
“Matthew, my first grandchild, was riding his motorcycle this morning in Leesburg when a car turned left at Lee St. and Hwy 441 into his path,” Don wrote. “He was transported to UF of Leesburg ER where the doctors, nurses, medics, and helicopter crew worked very hard for over 1.5 hours to stabilize him. He was then transported to Ocala Regional Trauma Center where they worked very hard to save him, but he passed away from all of his injuries. He will be terribly missed.”

Dawn also shared the heartbreaking news on social media, saying, “Our son has gone to be with Jesus. Thank you everyone for praying. We are heartbroken.”
The crash temporarily closed Lee Street as authorities investigated.
The loss has left a deep impact on friends, family and the local business community, where the Dolan family is widely respected for their long-standing presence and generosity.
