Shoppers in Lake and Sumter counties will soon have two more places to save as ALDI prepares to open new stores in Bushnell and Leesburg on Dec. 11. The new locations mark the company’s first in Bushnell and the second in Leesburg after an initial delay.

The Bushnell ALDI, at 1122 North Main Street, and the Leesburg ALDI, at 27405 U.S. 27, will both hold ribbon-cutting ceremonies at 8:45am on opening day. Doors will open to customers immediately afterward. Shoppers can also get a sneak peek on Dec. 10, when both stores will allow full shopping before the grand opening.
To celebrate, ALDI is offering several opening-day perks. The first 100 customers at each store on Dec. 11 will receive a “Golden Ticket” worth up to $100, along with a free eco-friendly bag filled with ALDI products. Free shopping totes will also be handed out while supplies last. Guests can scan in-store signs between Dec. 11 and 14 for a chance to win a $500 ALDI gift card.
Both stores will feature ALDI’s usual mix of fresh produce, pantry staples and weekly limited-time finds. And as always, shoppers are reminded to bring their quarter for the cart system.
The Lake and Sumter openings are part of a larger wave of ALDI growth across Florida. In December alone, the company has opened stores in Homosassa, Lakeland and Port Charlotte, with more planned. Several former Winn-Dixie locations around the state are also being converted. Locally, the Winn-Dixie in Eustis is slated to become an ALDI in 2026, with more details to come.
