The South Sumter Raiders Cheerleading Team is celebrating an extraordinary milestone: their first-ever bid to the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Nationals. After months of intense training, unwavering commitment, and remarkable teamwork, the Raiders triumphed at the regional championships, earning the chance to perform on the most prestigious stage in school history—at Walt Disney World.

“We are absolutely thrilled and honored to represent South Sumter at UCA Nationals for the very first time,” says Head Coach Deborah Doyle. “These athletes have poured their hearts into every practice and performance. Their passion, determination, and Raider spirit are truly inspiring, and I couldn’t be prouder of how far they’ve come. This is a dream come true for our team and our community!”

Guided by Coach Doyle’s more than twenty years of experience and supported by Assistant Coaches Haley Doyle and Candy Strong, the Raiders have built a program rooted in discipline, encouragement, and high standards. The team, comprising 30 dedicated athletes aged 11 to 15, is not just learning routines—they’re developing leadership, perseverance, and lifelong friendships, all while exemplifying the energy and excitement that define the Raiders.

This momentous achievement is the result of tireless effort from athletes, coaches, and parents, who have also been hard at work fundraising. As the team gets ready to make history at UCA Nationals, they invite the community to help make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity possible.
