40 Under 40: Hannah Cottle

My legacy: I hope our work leaves a mark of lasting beauty and rejuvenation in our community. We’re not just selling paint; we’re transforming homes into spaces that reflect our customers’ visions and satisfaction. I also hope our dedication and craftsmanship show the next generation that painting is a skilled and valuable trade worth pursuing.
What drives me: My biggest motivation comes from my family, from being a mom and newlywed. Wanting to support and build a good life for them is what drives me to give my best every single day.
Fun fact: I love working with horses. They’ve always been a big part of my life and something that brings me peace.
Twenty-seven-year-old Hannah Cottle has built a career that is as meaningful as it is hands-on. The Painters Unleashed co-owner pours her work ethic, creativity and love for family into every project she undertakes. Painting isn’t just a job to Hannah; it’s a way to transform spaces and help people feel proud of the place they call home.
Hannah’s life has been shaped by resilience and finding her own strength.
“Becoming a single mother and learning to figure everything out on my own definitely shaped me into the person I am today,” she says. “It taught me strength, independence and determination.”
Balancing multiple jobs and searching for childcare pushed her to work even harder and set the foundation for the business and life she has now.
One thing people might be surprised to learn is that she loves working with horses.
“They’ve always been a big part of my life and something that brings me peace,” she says.
That quiet connection balances out the hustle of long workdays, tight deadlines and the steady demand of running a business.
Through Painters Unleashed, Hannah hopes to leave a mark that lasts far beyond fresh paint.
“We’re not just selling paint, we’re transforming homes into spaces that reflect our customers’ visions and satisfaction,” she says.
She hopes the team’s dedication shows the next generation that painting is a skilled, valuable trade worth pursuing.
She hopes people remember more than polished walls when they look back on her career.
“I’d love for people to remember the high-quality work we delivered and how polite and professional our team always was,” Hannah says.
Overall, she wants the company to be known for treating employees like family, not just workers, and for truly caring about both customers and crew.
Family means everything to her.
“My biggest motivation comes from being a mom and a newlywed,” she says. “Wanting to support and build a good life for them is what drives me to give my best every single day.”
