40 Under 40: Jasmine Riggin

Jasmine Riggin

Age: 20

Career: Owner of Blue Blossom Brews

My legacy: I want people to remember me as someone who poured passion into every cup and used my business to spread positivity in the community, that I showed others — especially the younger generation — that success starts with a dream and the courage to begin.

My defining moment: When I decided to stop daydreaming about what I wanted and started doing the work to make it real. I had always known I wanted to run my own business, but it was my years working in coffee, starting at just 17, that turned that dream into direction. There’s something special about the way a simple cup of coffee can brighten someone’s day, and that feeling is what continues to inspire everything I do.

Fun fact: I may own a coffee trailer, but I actually don’t drink coffee!

At just 20 years old, Jasmine Riggin is already living the dream she spent years imagining.

As owner of Blue Blossom Brews, a mobile coffee trailer she runs on her own, she’s quickly becoming a familiar face at local events and a source of inspiration for young people who see someone their age doing something big.

Ironically, Jasmine admits that she doesn’t drink coffee. She does, however, love what a cup of coffee represents. That feeling started in her teens when she entered the coffee world.

“There’s something special about the way a simple cup of coffee can brighten someone’s day, and that feeling is what continues to inspire everything I do,” she says.

Her defining moment came when she stopped daydreaming and decided to take action.

“I had always known I wanted to run my own business, but it was my years working in coffee, starting at just 17, that turned that dream into direction,” she says.

That shift from wanting something to working for it set her entire future in motion.

Running a business alone hasn’t been easy.

“One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been learning to balance everything that comes with running a business on my own — finances, marketing, long hours and self-doubt,” she says.

Those tough moments taught her discipline, patience and the belief that every challenge brings growth.

For Jasmine, the best part of the job is coming full circle in her own community. Doing events at Umatilla High School, where she graduated just two years ago, means everything.

“It’s such a full-circle moment to be back on campus, showing students that with passion and hard work, you really can build something of your own,” she says.

Years from now, she hopes people remember her as someone who poured passion into every cup and used my business to spread positivity in the community.

“Knowing that something I created can brighten someone’s day keeps me going,” she says. “It’s not just about the drinks, it’s about the connections, the smiles and the reminder that I’m living out a dream I once only imagined.”
