40 Under 40: Kyle Fox

My defining moment: My experience growing up playing sports has formed the person that I am today. In both running and soccer, someone’s success is almost a direct reflection of the amount of work and dedication they were willing to put forth. I find that I continue to achieve success due to my relentless effort and determination.
My legacy: Shamrock has been a fixture in Lake County for more than 35 years. When Dr. Fagan, my mom, took over, Shamrock further strengthened its focus on wellness. We are always here when your pets are sick, but helping the community to understand the value of having a healthy pet as part of your family is invaluable. Today, I have the opportunity to help continue this mission for decades to come
At just 27, Dr. Kyle Fox has already become a trusted face at Shamrock Animal Hospital in Mount Dora, a family legacy he’s proud to continue. As an associate veterinarian, Kyle combines compassion, science and communication to provide the best possible care for his patients and their owners.
“Shamrock has been a fixture in Lake County for more than 35 years,” he says. “When Dr. Fagan, my mom, took over, Shamrock further strengthened its focus on wellness. We are always here when your pets are sick, but helping the community understand the value of having a healthy pet as part of your family is invaluable.”
Kyle says that mission drives him daily.
“My clients and patients deserve 100 percent of my focus and brain power, no matter which appointment or pet I am seeing,” he says. “For that reason, they are the ones that drive me to be my very best.”
Kyle, who is fluent in both English and Spanish, earned bachelor’s degrees in Animal Science and Spanish from the University of Florida before pursuing veterinary medicine. He credits his background in sports, particularly running and soccer, or shaping his character.
“Someone’s success is almost a direct reflection of the amount of work and dedication they are willing to put forth,” he says. “I continue to achieve success due to my relentless effort and determination.”
Kyle said his parents’ divorce taught him empathy.
“That experience taught me to never judge someone because you never know what they might be going through.”
Kyle hopes to be remembered as a good listener.
“The first step in teamwork is simply listening to owners,” he says. “They almost always can tell when something is amiss before I ever can.”
