Lake Minneola High Soars at 15th Annual Hawks on the Hill Invitational

The Lake Minneola High Track & Field team is showing no weakness this season. The girls finished in first place and the boys took second place at the 15th Annual Hawks on the Hill Invitational.
Vanessa Waite had a coming-out party in her main events, running the 100m in 11.53 and the 200m in 23.62 after being injured last year and converting to the 400m. Her times have placed her among the top tier in the country.

Betsy Terrio is in the top five in the state in the high jump, while Emri Terrio is one of the top 400m runners in the state with a time of 57.08. Serena Morgan has also been strong in all throwing events this year.

On the boys side, Wesly Morriseau is ranked among the top in the high jump with a mark of 1.97m (6’5.5″). Tyler Mullings leads the way in the discus with a throw of 50.96m (167’2″), while Evan Verghese posted 48.00m (157’6″) in the javelin. Distance runners Quentin Thompson (9:40.02) and Drew Sasson (9:45.14) continue to lead the way in the 3200m.

Do you remember Lake Minneola alum Tyshone Bolden? He was recently named the ASUN High Jump Championwith a jump of 2.07m. While attending Lake Minneola, Bolden became one of the program’s standout athletes, competing in track & field, football and basketball, showcasing his athletic versatility.

Coach Corey Isom has built a reputation as more than just a coach — he is a mentor dedicated to shaping young athletes into disciplined and confident leaders.

As the head coach of the Hawks’ cross country and track & field programs, Isom has helped guide student-athletes to new heights on and off the field. Known for his energy, commitment and strong leadership, he focuses on building a culture of hard work and accountability.

“I have an amazing crew of coaches that works alongside me and the student-athletes,” Isom says.

Beyond the track, Coach Isom is respected throughout the school community for the positive impact he has on students. His dedication to mentorship and developing well-rounded young people reflects the spirit of the Hawks and the pride of the Lake Minneola community.
