Kimberly, a Navy Veteran and Former Educator, Now Helps People Find Homes

Before becoming a licensed REALTOR®, she served in the Navy, earned her bachelor’s degree in aviation management, worked in the airline industry and then took an administrative position with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. She was a literary coordinator and taught inmates at Coleman Federal Prison for almost 25 years.

Eager to find a different way to help people, Kimberly got her real estate license in 2020 and has been serving her customers and community ever since.

“Last year was probably my most successful year yet even though the market trended downward,” says Kimberly.

She holds the designations At Home With Diversity®, Graduate, REALTOR® Institute, Military Relocation Professional, and takes pride in helping fellow veterans.

Kimberly is on the board of directors at the REALTORS® Association of Lake and Sumter Counties (RALSC). Kimberly is also active in the association’s leadership development and community awareness programs.

Kimberly is all about practical ways to make a difference, whether she’s collecting for local food banks or teaching self-defense classes to fellow real estate agents. (She has her black belt in martial arts.)

She recently participated in Great American REALTOR® Days (GARD) in Tallahassee with a group of REALTORS®
from RALSC.

“We were there to discuss issues that impact the real estate industry, such as insurance and HOA association rules,” says Kimberly. “We actually got to sit on a committee formed to come up with legislation.”

Kimberly has called Florida home since 1992. She and her husband Rusty live in Lake County on the Minneola Chain of Lakes and love being on the water. Their children, Dylan and Lea, are grown.

In addition to boating, reading, cross stitch, and puzzles, travel is one of Kimberly’s major passions.

“We usually travel with family at least once a year,” she says. “Last year we were in Hawaii. This spring Rusty and I are among 11 family members from North America going to Australia. We’ll be celebrating my aunt’s birthday and visiting the grave of my grandfather who served in the Australian Air Force.”

As soon as she returns home, Kimberly will be back to serving her real estate customers, patiently walking them through each step of the process.

“The best part of being a REALTOR® is helping people find what they’re looking for,” she says.
