Leesburg Business Owners Host Easter Festival to Give Back to Local Families

For business owners James and Kengela Dorsey, giving back isn’t just an occasional act. Tt’s a mission rooted in personal connection in Leesburg. James and Kengela are the owners of Triple Jayz Landscaping and The Tax Laboratory. With strong ties to the community, the vision behind this year’s Easter Fun Festival was to create a space where children and families could feel safe and celebrated.

“This community has played a big role in shaping who I am today,” Kengela says. “Being able to give back here means everything because this is home.”

That same passion is shared by James, a Wildwood native whose upbringing laid the foundation for his work ethic. He has built a reputation as a hardworking individual, a quality that continues to guide his efforts today.

James and Kengela’s mission was to provide a positive, fun and safe environment for the community. Families filled Berry Park to enjoy the egg hunt, food, bounce houses and plenty of free giveaways. The event reflected a strong sense of unity from start to finish.

“Our goal was to make sure every child felt special,” Kengela says. “Seeing the joy throughout the event showed us that we made a real difference.”

Their motivation goes beyond hosting a successful event. It comes from understanding that not all families have access to resources, opportunities or even consistent moments of joy. Recognizing that need, James and Kengela stepped in to create something meaningful — an experience designed to bring people together and remind the community that support is always within reach.

Looking ahead, they hope to expand their vision with more events in the community. Their goal includes creating consistent programming for youth, such as mentorship opportunities, engaging activities and safe spaces where children can grow and thrive.

“It’s important to keep kids in positive environments,” James says. “They are our future and we must invest in them.”

Both remain committed to reaching more families and creating opportunities that uplift the community. Their goal is not only to host more events, but to build a lasting culture of giving and support.

“The overwhelming turnout and encouragement from the community have already sparked plans for many more fun events for the kids,” Kengela says. “We are exploring the possibility of hosting events on a quarterly basis, or even more frequently, to maintain the momentum and continue meeting the needs of local families. We appreciate everyone who came out and supported. We’re just getting started.”
