New Tax Collector Office Opens in Leesburg to Meet Growing Demand

A new Lake County Tax Collector’s Office is now open in Leesburg, offering residents a more convenient option as the area continues to grow.

The office, located at 25321 U.S. Hwy. 27, Suite 107 in Plantation Plaza, officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by city officials and community members. Inside, visitors noted the modern design and shorter wait times compared to other locations.

Lake County Tax Collector David Jordan says the new site is the result of a detailed study focused on population growth and service demand. Chief Administrative Officer Tyler Brandeburg helped lead the effort to identify where a new office would have the greatest impact.

“This location helps us get people in and out more efficiently,” David says. “We’re seeing significant growth in areas like south Lake and Leesburg, and this gives residents another convenient option.”

The office offers most tax collector services, though fish and wildlife and concealed weapon licensing are not available at this location. Officials say many services are now available online, but in-person offices remain important for residents who need additional assistance.

One customer even arrived by golf cart from a nearby neighborhood, highlighting the office’s accessibility within The Plantation community.

Looking ahead, a new specialized services location is set to open soon in Tavares that will focus on providing driving skill tests, driver licenses for Non-U.S. Citizens, and various testing services by appointment.
