Yolanda Green Recognized for Community Leadership Across Lake and Sumter

Yolanda Green, a familiar face throughout Lake and Sumter counties for her extensive community involvement and volunteer work, was recently recognized as a 2026 Kingdom Woman Mood Setter by Hope International Church in Groveland.

The recognition honors women who lead with faith, compassion, positivity and purpose while helping impact their communities through service and encouragement.
Friends and colleagues describe Yolanda as someone deeply committed to serving others and improving the community without seeking recognition or attention.

“Yolanda is the true definition of servant leader,” Pastor Jodie McCoy says. “She genuinely cares about people and the progress of our community.”
Over the years, Yolanda has become known for encouraging others and remaining active throughout both Lake and Sumter counties. She says investing in people and relationships has always been important to her.

“Communities thrive when people invest in each other,” Yolanda says. “I’ve always wanted to be someone who contributes, not just someone who observes.”
Yolanda has received numerous recognitions for her service and leadership, including Workforce Champion from CareerSource Central Florida, Greg Padgett Citizen of the Year, 2023 Leesburg Chamber Ambassador of the Year, South Lake Chamber Ambassador of the Month, the EDGE Award, Service Delivery Excellence Award and the President’s Choice Award.
She has also received a letter of recognition from Congressman Daniel Webster acknowledging her community achievements and service.
