Miss Leesburg Scholarship Program Receives Grant to Expand Student Scholarships
The Miss Leesburg Scholarship Program has received a grant from the Mount Dora Community Trust that will allow the organization to increase scholarship funding and expand opportunities for local students.
Program leaders said the grant will help provide more financial assistance while equipping participants with the tools and confidence to pursue their educational and career goals.
“We are grateful to the Mount Dora Community Trust for believing in the potential of local youth,” said Linda Watts, founder and director of the Miss Leesburg Scholarship Program. “Your generosity doesn’t just fund our program; it fuels our mission and transforms lives.”
The Miss Leesburg Scholarship Program awards scholarships while providing participants with leadership development, interview skills and community service opportunities designed to prepare young women for future success.
Cindy serves as Executive Editor of Style Magazine and is a multimedia specialist in journalism, photography, videography and video editing. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of Central Arkansas and produces Style Magazine’s Sports Hub Podcast and Style Podcast. Cindy also serves as a producer for Beacon College’s Telly Award-winning PBS show, “A World of Difference.” When she isn’t working, Cindy enjoys traveling to national parks with her husband, Ryan, and son, David, while photographing wildlife — especially squirrels.
