After serving 20 years in the military, including combat deployments, David Booth found a new mission: helping fellow veterans successfully transition to civilian life.

As founder and CEO of Combat Veterans to Careers, David provides comprehensive support for veterans and their families, connecting them with resources for housing, employment, education, wellness and other essential services. He says the most rewarding part of his work is watching veterans regain hope, purpose and the opportunity to build successful futures.

David considers founding Combat Veterans to Careers his greatest accomplishment. What began as a way to continue serving others also became part of his own healing journey, allowing him to transform his military experiences into opportunities that benefit fellow veterans.

Through the organization, David has helped veterans throughout Lake and Sumter counties overcome barriers and build stronger lives within the community. He says his goal has always been to ensure those who served the country have the support they need to thrive after their military service ends.

Rather than pointing to his own achievements, David credits the veterans he serves as his greatest inspiration.

“Their resilience, courage and determination continue to inspire me every day,” David says.

“While I may help provide resources and guidance, they are the ones who do the hard work of rebuilding their lives.”

His advice to future leaders is to become active in their communities.

“When you invest your time and talents in serving others, you not only make a lasting difference in their lives, but you also grow as a leader and as a person,” he says.

David also was awarded the Daughters of the American Revolution Outstanding Veteran Volunteer of the Year Award for the state of Florida and the Southeast Region.
