Lisa Johnson never imagined that baking sourdough bread for her mother would one day become an award-winning bakery and gathering place for the Leesburg community.

As owner of Blue Ribbon Bakery in Leesburg, Lisa creates award-winning sourdough bread and handcrafted baked goods while operating a bakery and farm stand that celebrate traditional baking and local agriculture. She is passionate about preserving time-honored techniques while creating a welcoming place where people can gather and connect.

Lisa is most proud of growing Blue Ribbon Bakery from a simple act of caring into a thriving business rooted in community. What began as baking sourdough for her mother has evolved into an opportunity to share her passion, educate customers about traditional baking and build relationships that extend beyond the counter.

Supporting local businesses remains central to her mission. Lisa partners with area producers, participates in community events and works to strengthen the local economy while creating a place where neighbors become friends.

She credits her family, along with the customers and friends who believed in her from the beginning, for helping shape her leadership journey.

“Their encouragement has shown me that leadership begins with serving others, staying authentic and never giving up on your vision,” Lisa says.
