For more than 35 years,  J.J. Dahl, a board-certified attorney and owner of Dahl Family Law Group, has built a career centered on guiding families through difficult and often deeply personal circumstances. Representing clients in family law matters throughout Lake, Sumter, Citrus, Marion and Hernando counties, she approaches each case with compassion, integrity and practical guidance.

“Family is at the heart of my practice, and it is deeply rewarding to help clients achieve positive outcomes for their futures,” she says.

Her decades of service have been marked by several professional distinctions. She earned Board Certification in Marital and Family Law in 2004, became a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 2016 and achieved certification through the National Board of Trial Advocacy in 2021. She has also served on the Judicial Nominating Commission.

“These milestones reflect my ongoing commitment to excellence, professionalism and service to both my clients and the legal community,” she says.

That commitment extends outside the courtroom. In 2014, she became one of the founding members of the Women’s Giving Alliance, which supports initiatives benefiting women and children in South Lake County. She has also sponsored local charitable organizations, school athletic departments and nonprofits, particularly those focused on homelessness and rehabilitation. Additionally, she remains active in her church and continues to look for ways to serve others.

“Giving back to my community has always been an important part of my life,” she says.

At the center of her professional and community involvement is a strong faith that has influenced how she leads, makes decisions and treats others.

“Above all, my faith in God has been the greatest influence on my life, career and leadership journey,” she says. “My faith has provided me with strength, wisdom, humility and purpose, guiding both my professional decisions and my commitment to serving others with compassion.”

Her advice to emerging professionals and community leaders reflects the same principles that have guided her own career: strive for excellence, continue learning and help others along the way.

“Set ambitious goals and pursue them with determination, integrity and perseverance,” she says. “When you invest in yourself, you are better equipped to serve others and make a lasting difference in your community.”
