For Kimberly Grogan, helping someone find the right pair of shoes can be about much more than footwear.

The 47-year-old small business owner and entrepreneur is the owner of Dash Sports Clermont and Dash Sports Winter Garden, where she has built a business around helping people move more comfortably and confidently.

“As the owner of Dash Sports, I’m passionate about helping people live healthier, more active lives by finding the right shoes and gear for their unique needs,” Kimberly says. “Whether someone is training for their first 5K, recovering from an injury, or simply wants to walk comfortably, I love creating an experience where every customer feels heard, supported, and encouraged.”

Over the past 20 years, Dash Sports has grown into what Kimberly describes as a trusted community resource.

“I’m most proud of building Dash Sports into a business that has become a trusted resource for our community over the past 20 years,” she says.

Milestones such as earning more than 1,000 five-star Google reviews are meaningful, she says, but the greater reward comes from seeing customers improve their quality of life.

“What means the most is knowing we’ve made a positive difference in people’s lives by helping them move better, feel better, and achieve goals they never thought possible,” Kimberly says.

That commitment extends beyond the store.

Through Dash Sports, Kimberly has supported parkrun, local schools, nonprofit races, health initiatives and community organizations. She is also a part owner of Flodash Events which organizes running events throughout Lake County and supports other local non-profit 5k events.

“Giving back has always been at the heart of what I do through Dash Sports,” she says.

Those events, she says, have helped raise money for local causes, bring visitors to Lake County and encourage healthier lifestyles.

Kimberly describes herself as a perpetual learner and credits mentors, employees, customers and other business owners with shaping her approach to leadership.

“Every experience has reinforced the importance of leading with integrity, listening first, building genuine relationships, and always putting people before profits,” she says.

Those values also shape the advice she would give future professionals and community leaders.

“Be willing to show up, work hard, and genuinely care about the people you serve,” Kimberly says. “Success isn’t built overnight — it’s earned through consistency, kindness, and a commitment to making your community better than you found it.”

For Kimberly, the goal behind Dash Sports remains simple: help people move better, feel better and keep moving forward.
