For owners Jason McDonald and David Bates, the way to run a successful business is pretty simple.

That straightforward philosophy has served Jason and David well for nearly two decades.

Family owned and operated, DNJ Construction specializes in helping homeowners throughout The Villages make more of the homes they already love with room additions, lanai windows, birdcages and other screen enclosures designed around their needs.

Lanai windows are one of DNJ’s specialties. Although a roofed lanai offers shade and outdoor living space, its openings can still allow in rain, dirt, pollen and outside temperatures. Jason jokes that he never has to worry about running into an unhappy former customer at Publix because for DNJ Construction, a successful project is about more than adding space to a home.

“Do the job right and when it’s finished, make sure the homeowner is happy to see you again whether it’s 10 days or 10 years later,” Jason says. “We have quite the fan club of previous customers out there and we love that.”
