Scott’s Roofing Builds on a 50-Year Family Legacy

For more than five decades, Scott’s Roofing has been a family business. But being family-owned means more than having the same last name on the company, it means each generation takes responsibility for carrying forward the reputation the generation before them worked so hard to build.

Today, siblings Tyler Scott and Sarah Scott Varnadore are doing exactly that.

As the third generation of the Scott family working in the business, Tyler and Sarah grew up around roofing. They watched their father, Tommy Scott, dedicate his career to serving local homeowners and building relationships throughout Central Florida. Now, they’re working alongside him while preparing for the day when their generation takes the lead.

Tyler is positioned to eventually take over the company from Tommy, with Sarah alongside him helping lead the operational side of the business.

“There’s something really special about getting to work alongside my dad and my brother every day,” says Sarah. “Tyler and I have different strengths, but we both care deeply about this company, our employees and making sure our customers feel taken care of from beginning to end.”

That sibling relationship has become one of the company’s greatest strengths. Tyler and Sarah know when to challenge each other, when to listen and where each other’s strengths lie. Most importantly, they share the same goal: protecting the reputation their family has spent generations building.

“Taking over a family business that has been around since 1973 comes with a lot of responsibility,” says Tyler. “We’re not trying to change what made us successful. We want to build on what our grandfather and dad created and make sure our customers continue receiving the personal service and quality work our family name has always stood for.”

For Tyler and Sarah, a customer is never just another job on the schedule. Every project carries their family name, and the experience a homeowner has today will shape how Scott’s Roofing is talked about tomorrow.

Tommy may still be leading the way today, but the future of Scott’s Roofing is already taking shape beside him.

Three generations. One family name. And a commitment to making sure the values that built Scott’s Roofing never change.
