Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks Announces Expansion to Lake County
Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks has forged a partnership with former PepsiCo president Derek Lewis. This collaboration signals the brand’s expansion into the Sunshine State, with plans to open ten new locations in Florida, including Lake County.
Florida residents can anticipate a delectable experience as Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks brings the authentic flavors of Philadelphia to their doorstep. Beyond their renowned cheesesteaks, the menu will feature their highly-acclaimed cheesesteak egg rolls, boasting premium beef, chicken, and salmon.
The partnership can be traced back to an entrepreneurial leadership event, where Derrick Hayes, the visionary behind Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks, sought avenues for business growth. It was at this event that he crossed paths with Derek Lewis, setting the stage for a promising collaboration.
Hayes expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “Meeting Derek felt like an instant connection. Growing up in Philly, Pepsi’s always been our go-to. When he learned about Big Dave’s and our journey, we became fast friends. Honestly, there are no words to capture how pumped I am about this franchise deal – this partnership is about to set the brand on fire.”
Lewis echoed this enthusiasm, affirming,‘We’re kicking off what’s going to be an exciting and long-term partnership. When Derrick announced the franchising deal, I was genuinely intrigued. After meeting Derrick and visiting Big Dave’s for the very first time, it just clicked for me – this place deserves to be everywhere in the U.S., and now it’s happening.”
Lewis has identified target locations in Lake, Brevard, Volusia, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties.
With just a few months of accepting franchise applications, Hayes is making significant progress towards his goal of signing 100 franchise locations by the end of 2025. Backed by a strong team, the brand is fully equipped to support its franchisees. Disclosed in its 2023 Franchise Disclosure Document, one of the brand’s affiliate locations generated $3,555,129 in net sales over the past 18 months, with a second affiliate location generating $2,044,918 over the same period.
Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks is not just stopping at Florida; the brand is expanding rapidly, with a new location set to open in Charlotte, North Carolina, this Spring.
