Local Student Haley Williams Continues Courageous Battle With Cancer

Haley Williams continues to battle to overcome leukemia. Haley has been surrounded by love ever since she was diagnosed with cancer. Her parents, Craig and Lena Williams, have been very open about their daughter’s brave fight against cancer and started the Facebook group HaleyStrong.

Since they started the group, the Williams family has continually updated everyone on the progress of Haley. She is an incredible young lady who continues to fight valiantly. The family appreciates the love and support they are receiving, and we continue to ask the public to pray for Haley and that she may beat this and be healed.

(Community Unity: Haley stands with members of the Buffalo Stampeders 16U volleyball team who were wearing HaleyStrong shirts. A very touching moment.)

The HaleyStrong group led to many in the community wearing orange in support of Haley and putting up signs, wearing shirts, and that show of support has not gone unnoticed. The community has shown unwavering support for this young girl.

(Haley continues to be surrounded by love. Here she is with Charge Nurse Katie. Katie has been a upbeat and smiling face when things get tough. She has been a rock and the Williams family has appreciated everything she has done along with so many who have helped Haley with her battle.)

The Williams family has been enjoying time with their daughter as recently Lena Williams announced, “Haley finished her immunotherapy that she has been hooked up continuously for 28 days. Today she had another lumbar puncture and bone marrow biopsy. Praying that during this immunotherapy time, no cancer has crept in. We won’t get results for a few days. We are going to enjoy this break until we start chemo back soon. Thank you for all the love and prayers, and we ask that you spread the love and awareness for childhood cancer. It can happen to anyone. We need to fight for these kiddos!” said Lena.

The love has spread all over our community. This little girl has inspired so many people and continues to with her courageous battle. We continue to pray every day for Haley and her family and encourage the community to do the same.

I will end the article with a prayer “Father God, we humbly pray for all those who are fighting cancer. Give them the hope and courage they need each day. Comfort them in their pain and bless them with healing. Strengthen their family, friends, and caregivers. In Jesus name, Amen.
