Local SUNNY FM 105.9 Radio Host Anthony “DOMINO” Lini Passes Away
Residents in our community were shocked to hear the news that Anthony Domino Lini passed away on Monday at the age of 61. Domino had been with WOCL since February of 2010. He was an afternoon staple in the Deland/Orlando area. I myself often found myself tuning into Sunny-FM because he made me feel good about getting out of work on any afternoon, especially Fridays.
105.9FM posted on social media today and said, “We are still in shock, saddened to our core with the tragic passing of our dear friend DOMINO yesterday. Our hearts are broken, and we pray that Zoe finds solace in the memories of her amazing father who lived only for her since the day she was born. The world lost a legend yesterday. A sweet, funny, bigger-than-life man, and heaven is a lot louder and a lot brighter today. DOMINO would only talk about two things, Zoe and radio. No professional in any field was more dedicated to what he did than him. It wasn’t a job for Domino; it was his life. Watching Domino with Zoe was an inspiration on what fathers should be like, and we admire the incredible dad he always was. I, your co-workers, and your listeners will always carry you in our hearts always. Rest easy, my friend.”

This is a tough loss. As a broadcaster myself, I found the way that Domino delivered his on-air personality truly unique. No one was like him, and he stood out from the rest of the pack. He always made me feel good about myself even if I was having a bad day. I would tune the radio to 105.9 FM and DOMINO would be that friend I would need to give me a little pick me up in the afternoon.
Another on-air DJ, Dee Neroes, said, “I’m at a loss for words right now! The day I started at 106.1 KISS FM, DOMINO took me under his wing! He was my radio inspiration! I never went to broadcasting school or anything like that, but he was my instructor! I was his board-op for damn near most of his live broadcasts and remotes. If I wasn’t in the studio, I was with him on-site.”
Our hearts go out to everyone at 105.9 SUNNY FM, and we pray for his daughter Zoe. May he rest in peace.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.
For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.
Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
