East Ridge High Girls Lacrosse Team Looking for 4th Straight District Championship In A Row

The East Ridge Girls Lacrosse team is looking for their 4th straight district championship in a row. The team has 5 total and should have been 6, but the Covid-shortened season got in the way of the 2020 season.

The Lady Knights come into the tournament 12-3 overall on the season. They ended the regular season 6-0 in district games and are the clear favorite to win the district again this season.

The Lady Knights will play Lake Minneola in the semifinal game tonight at 7:30 pm. If the Lady Knights win, they will move on to face either West Orange or Windermere in the District Championship on Thursday night at 6:30 pm.

The Lady Knights are led by head coach Sarah Klosterman, who has made a name for herself as one of the most dominant ladies Lacrosse coaches in all of Lake County. Klosterman says of the team, “These girls have proven themselves time and time again, making the Knights a team to beat. This year is extra special as the current seniors will be the ones with an official 4th straight district title, if they win. Our team has 5 total titles but should be 6. Unfortunately, the Covid-shortened season got in the way in 2020.”

While the Lady Knights are looking to wrap up a 4th District Championship in a row, they are also looking to get out of the first round of the FHSAA State Tournament. This is something that East Ridge has not been able to do as of yet, but this could be the year! The past few years, it’s been an early exit in the FHSAA Playoffs. But the competition in the FHSAA Playoffs is fierce.

One thing is for certain. East Ridge High has cemented itself as one of the best girls Lacrosse programs in Lake County. There are only a few girls Lacrosse programs in Lake County with East Ridge, Lake Minneola, Leesburg High, and South Lake High having girls Lacrosse programs currently.

We wish the Lady Knights the best of luck tonight in their district Semifinal!
