The City of Eustis is celebrating the overwhelming success of the 2025 Amazing Race for Charity, which raised $41,950 to benefit local nonprofit organizations.

“Seeing the community come together in such a big way was incredible,” said A’zhane Faulknor, City Events Assistant and lead organizer of the event. “We wanted this event to be fun, purposeful, and impactful—and I think we succeeded. Every obstacle, every laugh, every donation went toward something meaningful, and we’re so grateful to everyone who played a part.”

The event, held Saturday, March 29, brought together more than 300 racers, dozens of volunteers, and countless supporters who tackled a 4 to 6-mile course featuring over 15 creative and challenging obstacles.

At the April 17 City Commission Meeting, the City formally recognized and honored all benefiting organizations for their commitment to the Lake County community.

The proceeds were distributed to the following organizations: Worth It Suicide Outreach and Support Inc., Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter Florida, Hand in Hand Recovery, ECS4Kids, Education Foundation of Lake County, Trout Lake Nature Center, Lake Cares Inc. Food Pantry, Companions for Courage, and LovExtension, Inc.

Special donations were also made to Alee Academy Charter School, for providing transportation services, and the Eustis African American Heritage Celebration Committee, Inc., for their outstanding volunteer support.

Planning is already underway for the 2026 race.
