Cancer Survivor Morgan Romano Throws Out First Pitch at Umatilla High Baseball Game

UMATILLA, Fla. — Morgan Romano stood tall on the pitcher’s mound at Umatilla High School on Tuesday night. The moment she let go of the first pitch, the crowd rose in a standing ovation—not just for the toss, but for the incredible journey behind it.
Romano, is the embodiment of resilience. Diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of three, she endured 10 grueling years of treatment, including two bone marrow transplants and immunotherapy. Today, she is cancer-free and full of life.

The school paid tribute to her inspiring battle by wearing yellow ribbons in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness. Head coach Tanner Clark summed up the emotion of the night: “We are proud of Morgan. Keep being a fighter—you inspire us all.” says Umatilla Head Baseball Coach Tanner Clark.
Away from the spotlight, Morgan enjoys swimming, playing golf, spending time with her dog, and whipping up dishes in the kitchen. She plans to pursue a career in the culinary arts after graduation.
