Christine Cruz Appointed to Eustis City Commission
At the Eustis City Commission Meeting held on Sept. 19, 2024 Christine Cruz was sworn in as Interim Commissioner for seat number 4.
The vacancy filled by Cruz was created when former City Commissioner Nan Cobb resigned to run for the Florida House of Representatives. City Ordinance required the Commission to fill the open seat. Applications to complete the unexpired term were accepted over a two-week period, August 19 -August 30, 2024.
“Addressing the issues and matters of the Citizens and the City of Eustis is too important for us not to have a full complement of Commissioners to make decisions that keep us on track for accomplishing our goals and achieving our vision,” said Eustis Mayor Michael Holland.
A marketing, advertising, and creative executive, Cruz brings 30 years of business management experience, and over 17 years of service on Eustis community boards and committees to the Commission. Of particular note, Cruz is the Founder of CleanUp Eustis, and previously served on the Downtown and East Town Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Review Committee.
As CEO at Compass Creative Group for the past four years, Cruz oversees the management, development, design and implementation of marketing and advertising initiatives for the company’s clients.
“I look forward to the opportunity to serve the citizens of Eustis by using the input I’ve gathered over past 20 years in the community to help shape good policies, and make decisions that improve our quality of life,” says Cruz.
