CLERMONT, Fla. — Sha’Carri Richardson, the dynamic sprinter who grew up in Texas and now calls Clermont home, is set to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Richardson qualified at the U.S. Track & Field Olympic Trials in Oregon, securing her place in the Women’s 100-meter as well as the 4×100-meter relay.

Richardson enters the 2024 Olympics as the biggest Track & Field star in years. Her performances at the Trials left spectators in awe including myself who was watching on TV, showcasing her speed and ease across events. Richardson proved competitive, poised to represent Team USA on the world’s grandest stage.

Residing in Clermont, Richardson trains with the Star Athletics who train at Montverde Academy. Richardson will be joined by a cadre of talented athletes headed to Paris including Kenny Bednarek, making his second Olympic appearance, Noah Lyles who is a favorite in the mens 100-meter and Twanisha “Tee Tee” Terry, who also qualified among many others.

As the 2024 Olympic Games approach, the Clermont community buzzes with excitement. Residents eagerly anticipate cheering on Richardson, hoping she will bring Olympic Gold back to Lake County! Go Sha’Carri!
